Transportation
Barcelona has 3 airports, one central, Barcelona-Prat, and Girona and Reus, situated further out
Prat-Barcelona (13km)
Junction airport / downtown
By taxi, the journey from the airport to downtown takes about 20 minutes and costs about €25.
If you prefer a cheaper solution, you can opt for the Aerobus, which connects the airport to the Plaza de Catalunya for about €3.50 or the train, a ticket to the city centre costs € 2.60.
Girona Airport (103 km North East)
Liaison airport / city center
The Barcelona Bus, adapted to Ryanair flight times, arrives at the bus station in Barcelona.
The train, 20 minutes by bus or taxi from the airport, takes you to Barcelona in 1h10.
Reus Airport (106 km South West)
Liaison airport / city center
The train, 30 minutes by taxi (about €16 the fare) takes you to the station of Barcelona-Sants.
The bus( accessible by shuttle or taxi) costs € 11 or € 18 return to go to Barcelona.
Public Transportation
To move about the city, the subway (5 lines) or bus provide good options. Public transport is good and the buses run generally from 5am to 10pm. A single bus or metro ticket costs €1.35.
Otherwise taxis won't break the bank! Subway trains are air conditioned.
Museums and tourism
Barcelona Card: This card allows you access to many museums and attractions, including the transport network. There are 5 options depending on the length of your trip: 1 (€25) to 5 days (€40).
You can buy the Barcelona Card online or at tourist offices in the city.
