A few words on Chamonix
Although it encompasses an upmarket ski resort, Chamonix hides past full of depth.
Situated at the base of Mont Blanc this French village has played host to many mountaineering deeds. With a 4000 metre altitude, Aiguille du Midi is a true myth, and the valley is famous for its snow capped slopes, explaining why Chamonix hosted the firsts Winter Olympics in 1924.
After a day of skiing, you could slalom between the shops, enjoy a delicious meal in one of the gastronomic restaurants, stop by the luxurious hotels and stroll along the streets crowded with various nationalities, making this place cosmopolitan. In Summer, the Alps have a lot to offer too. Climbing, bike riding, paragliding and walking, provide activities that will make of your stay in Chamonix an invigorating experience.
