Built in the 1860's, the Royal Ettrick hotel was originally the grand town house of a rich Edinburgh barrister. The house was converted into a hotel in the 1940's, extended and now boasting a conservatory and private car park. This traditional hotel offers quality accommodation, value for money and a very warm welcome. With 19 bedrooms, conservatory restaurant (where there is free Wi-Fi Internet access), beer garden, and lounge bar, it strives to offer a home away from home atmosphere. The main hotel has 12 bedrooms, 9 of which are located on the top floor via a winding staircase. Some rooms have sloping ceilings and skylights. The hotel does not have a lift.

The rooms vary in size from medium to large and are kept in very good condition. Bathrooms are also kept in very good condition, also each room is individually designed and no two rooms are alike. They are elegantly furnished keeping in touch with the Edwardian theme. The bathrooms are large, bright and marbled. The modern, recently refurbished rooms have a traditional feel, but are extremely well equipped with stunning furnishings. The hotel has a brasserie and grill room, both are very large. The brasserie is spacious with plenty of room around each table. The grill room is more sophisticated with leather seats. The modern furnishing is very well co- ordinated. This is a traditional hotel with an outstanding blend of historic elegance. A very large building in a sandstone colour and is impressive in appearance. The lobby is very large and luxurious with marbled floors, large white pillars, seating areas and large rugs on the floor. An Edwardian interior.

This is a pleasant family run hotel. It is basic with regard to its furnishing and decor but good value and away from the hustle and bustle of central Edinburgh. Recent investment into the rooms and public areas have been made in 2011. (GH 2011) Situated in Inverkeithing, Scotland, this hotel is just a few miles north of Edinburgh and close to the World Famous Forth Railway Bridge. The railway station is only a four minute walk from the hotel and connects directly to central Edinburgh, which is only a further fifteen minute journey away. A taxi from Edinburgh takes 20 minutes approximately. A public shuttle bus provides access to Edinburgh airport every 20 minutes. b This lodge house is over 100 years old, yet is equipped with many modern facilities; tea and coffee making facilities, satellite television; all rooms are ensuite. The rooms are basic but clean in decor in keeping with the rest of the property There is just a small breakfast room located on the ground floor. This is a traditional building standing back from the road. Small in size, with a small reception area. The hotel reception is only open until 22:00. One of the very best hotels in Edinburgh with a full leisure club. This hotel is centrally located on Prince's Street in the centre of Edinburgh. A fantastic location for this landmark hotel. Many of the bedrooms have been renovated recently to a very high standard-these are now sold as superior rooms. The decor is beautiful and the bathroom's are marble. The standard rooms are more basic but are still in a fair condition. There is a view of Edinburgh Castle from some rooms. There are two restaurants. One is slightly more formal decorated in soft pastels with delicate murals on the walls. The other restaurant is less formal and offers a wide variety of meals in relaxed surroundings. There is also an infomal wine bar which is open to the public and a smaller, intimate cocktail bar. It is a traditional building and is one of Edinburgh's most distinguished hotels. It was originally built in 1903 as part of the old Caledonian railway station. It does have a wing which was built in later years. The lobby is large and is very elegant. There is a large staircase and a lounge leading off of it. The Caledonian Hilton Refurbishment The hotel will be commencing a refurbishment programme in October, 2011. The main areas affected will be some of the bedrooms and public areas. During this time, access to the hotel will remain the same from the corner of Lothian Road and Rutland Street but kindly note that both Chisholms Restaurant and Henry J Beans Bar & Grill will be closed. The hotel is based in a nineteenth century Victorian townhouse, it is set over three floors and many of the original period features are still visible. The lobby is small and located directly inside the front door in front of the stairs to the first landing. There is a small reading room off to the left.
