Day 1 : Sight Seeing in Val d’Isère; First Visit
The rock of Bellevarde overlooks Val d’Isère and offers you a stunning view. From the hamlet La Daille, the « Funival » will take you over 2700 meter high in just a few minutes. Go to the viewpoint indicator and locate the mountains around you: the Vanoise, Mont-Blanc, and Grande Sassière. Next go back to the valley and head towards the col de l’Iseran, a challenge for the racing cyclists of the Tour de France! Will you be brave enough to take it up? If you are, get a “Vélodateur” at the tourist office: it will time you, so that you can have your achievement ratified before receiving a diploma! Once at the summit, have lunch at the restaurant du Col de l’Iseran or enjoy a picnic in front of the beautiful Tsanteleina summit. Back to the village, you can visit the pretty baroque church Saint-Bernard de Menthon, before discovering the animals of the Adroit Farm, where you can even help milk the cows! After a little shopping in the resort’s luxury shops at the end of the afternoon, you will be ready for an evening out at the XV or at the Café Face.
Day 2 : Excursions to La Vanoise National Park
From the Tarentaise to the Vanoise, Val d’Isère’s surroundings are also worth a visit. First, go to Tignes’ impressive dam, and admire the remains of its fresco from the 1808 meter-high panoramic viewpoint. Stop in the village of Séez to discover the local craft industry, the ancient trades, and to bring back some souvenirs. You can visit La maison des artisans et créateurs (House of Craftsmen and Designers), the Arpin textile mill and the Favre tanneries.
After that, head towards Moûtiers, the capital of Tarentaise. Take a stroll in the shopping alleys, visit the cathedral Saint-Pierre, and the museum of history and archaeology. Next, have lunch at the Coq Rouge or at La Voûte. Don’t forget to go to Pralognan-la-Vanoise, a charming village near La Vanoise National Park. This preserved site is the starting point of many hiking trails around which you can discover the wildlife.
Day 3 : Winter Sports
Val d’Isère is famous for hosting the most prestigious international Alpine skiing events. Bellevarde, Solaise, Charvet were once the scene of the famous Olympic games and other world championships events. But Val d’Isère is a great resort for skiers of every level. Snowboarders will have the time of their life at the Valpark, cross-country skiers can discover the many trails. And for those who don’t ski? Val d’Isère doesn’t leave anybody out, there are igloo parties at 2400 meters of altitude, or mushing sessions, with sleigh dogs!
Day 4 : Summer Sports
In the summer, experienced skiers will go skiing on the glacier du Pissaillas. Hikers can walk around the Solaise through the GR5 that starts at the centre of Val d’Isère, and then take a break or go fishing at the Lac de l’Ouillette. Keep walking to get to the Prariond refuge and to see the beautiful la Galise pass. If you are feeling a little lazier, the beach space in the sports center Oxygen, offers the perfect spot for relaxation.

Day 5 : Snow storm
If the weather is really bad, you can take refuge in the cinema, or in the very cosy Oxygen complex, where fitness classes and spa bath therapies await you. Many events are organised in the resort, so don’t forget to check the program !
