A few words on Val d'Isère
Be it winter or summer, Val d’Isère is always a lively station ! This world ski capital is 1850 meters at its highest point, and holds many international events. Recently, the 2009 world championship took place on this huge ski area with exceptional snow cover. Together with Tignes, Val d’Isère forms the Espace Killy, with state-of-the-arts facilities. Judge by yourself: 300 km of runs, 90 ski lifts, two glaciers and two snowparks. This is paradise on snow for skiers, snowboarders, telemark skiers…
The village is just as charming off-season. Since 1930, the resort has been growing with elegance. It owes its charm to the pretty hamlets scattered across the valley, accessible by ski, but also with an efficient bus network. What’s more, the architecture respects the environment and the traditional materials such as flagstone, wood and metal, make Val d’Isère one of the most charming resorts in the French Alps. Enjoy your nights in the mountains, have a candlelit diner, admire the illuminations, try the trendy bars and the dancefloors. Elegant and trendy boutiques will be a perfect place to dream and to relax between two runs. A successful alchemy between the authenticity of a village in the mountains, and the euphoria of a festive and fashionable holiday resort…
