You will discover some of the most scandalous paintings inside this gallery. It combines important collections of the Venetian former convent dating back to the 14th century, and continuing until the 18th century. Artworks of Véronèse, Tintoret, Carpaccio, Tiepolo, Bellini among others are clearly explained. This museum was initially a school of restoration. The 24 rooms are in chronological order.

Luxuriously finished by the biggest names in Venetian arts, such as Véronèse, Titien and Tintoret whom you can admire as a sole tourist. However, a conducted tour will reveal all hidden secrets and political intrigues of the former republic of Venice...  It lines the entrance of the Grand Venitian Canal and the south side of the square of Saint Marc. For a long period, it was the seat of the Venetian administration, before becoming the main prison of the city. Today, it is a magnificent museum.

Frari is a minor basilica with an Italian Gothic style. It is constructed of clear bricks and shelters a remarkable altarpiece of the Assumption made by Titien and many other masterpieces of the artist, who is actually buried here. The monument of the grave provokes many thoughts, and was created by sculptor Canova. It was realized by his pupils according to drawings intended for the grave of Titien.

The oldest of four bridges crossing the Grand Canal of Venice. The visible version today dates back to 1591, and is the last of a succession of various constructions. It connects the Saint Marc district, political and Rialto district, storekeeper. It also supports numerous shops along the way. From this constantly overcrowded bridge, the view of the canal and its palaces is absolutely magnificent, particularly in the evening.

The largest exhibition in European and American modern art, all based in Italy. You will meet the Italian Futurists, the Dadaists, and the Expressionists ... All has been collected by Peggy Guggenheim in her former house, known as the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni. A entire room is solely dedicated to the work of Jackson Pollock, as she was a huge sponsor of his artwork.

A genuine symbol of Venice; the Basilica majestically overhangs the San Marco square, which has been invaded by pigeons. This remarkable example of Byzantine architecture appears finely chiselled and nicely presented with its five domes. You will never become tired of admiring its incredible appearance. Once inside, don't miss Pala of oro; an exceptional golden altarpiece dating back to 976.

Very trendy, avant-garde art gallery. It is the François Pinault Foundation which surrounded this Grassi palace. It presents collections of contemporary art.
