What is the concept of addictrip 

Addictrip is the site that helps you find the best hotel (single and soon packaged) at the best price to fully enjoy your next city break.

How did you come up with this idea ?

As a team we're all city breakers. Indeed, the week-end represents for us a get-away, a moment to breathe. This is an opportunity to make regular mini holidays between two periods of longer vacations. But we were all frustrated that there is no site on the Web to help us in preparing our short stays. For instance, it still takes a lot of time to spot a well-located hotel, compare prices on the web and finally find the best deals !

Is addictrip the name of your company ?

No, the company that runs addictrip is called Cassette Voyage. It is a French registered company (number 503 719 379 at RCS Paris). Addictrip is a registered trademark of Cassette Voyage.

What differentiates addictrip ?

We are the first site to be really specialized on city breaks in Europe and elsewhere. We take a community approach as we believe that we are more intelligent together. We therefore provide the community with the necessary tools to share any good plan (nice place or good promotion)

Is it free ?

Using addictrip is free for all users and all members. We even offer to earn money. In fact, if you spot interesting promotions that you share with users on addictrip and someone books this offer thanks to your help, you'll get paid (soon to come).

How do you earn money ?

We earn money on the sale of hotels. When one of you books a hotel room through our website with one of our partners, the partner pays us a commission. If the booking was made through the intervention of one of our members, we will give him (her) a part of this commission.

Why should I use addictrip ?

If you go on a city break, it is likely that we will have information about your destination on the site. If so, you can access this information to prepare your stay and choose the best hotel according to your expectations, desires and budget! Try it, you'll be quickly convinced!

What cities are covered by addictrip ?

We currently cover more than 60 destinations, mainly in Europe. If you want an exhaustive list, please visit our homepage .

How are picked your selections of venues ?

We work with writers to help us select the best locations for all types of weekends that you could imagine (romantic, festive, design ...). We have decided to make a real selection to present you only few quality places in each city.

I can’t find my preferred restaurant, bar or touristic attraction on the site, can I add it ?

We enable our registered members to add the places they liked (excluding hotels). It is quite simple to do so :

• Go to your profile and click on "I add locations that are not yet on addictrip" and follow the guide

  

• Or go to the page of the city in which you want to add a location and click on "Add location" at the top of the map. Then follow the guide.

  

How do I invite my friends ?

If you are a member, nothing could be easier ! We give you on your profile all you need to invite your friends easily:

You can send a message to your friends on Facebook, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo or enter email addresses manually.

If you are not yet a member, we suggest you send an email to your friends including a reference to the site address: www.addictrip.com .

Why become a member of the community ?

Become a community member gives you access to many benefits that you do not have if you are an anonymous user. First you can save all the information you want on each of our destinations. You can add more comments on existing locations on addictrip, but also new places you want to share with other users and you do not find on addictrip.

Beyond that, you can communicate with all other members, either via the forum or via the internal messaging. And many other things you will discover during your navigation.

Why add your comments ?

By adding comments on restaurants, hotels…, you can help other users get a more accurate idea of the place. If we get lots of comments on our places, people preparing their next week-end will be able to get an objective idea of what the place is really like.

How to write a good review, useful to the community ?

If you are authentic and sincere, your opinion will be helpful to the community. A review consists of:

• A title to highlight your general perspective on the place,
• A description where you can say more, get into the details of what you like or what you do not like,
• An overall score between 0 and 5, 0 being a very poor rating and 5 being a very good one.

On what can I add comments ?

You can add comments on all the places we offer on addictrip (hotels, restaurants, attractions, bars, shopping).

Can I file a negative opinion on a hotel if I've had a bad experience ?

You can indeed give a negative opinion on a hotel if you have had a bad experience. However, the hotel also has a right to reply on your comment in order to defend itself.

Is there a moderation of the reviews added by members of the community ?

Of course, we do moderate all the content added by the community. We moderate content after it has been published, so you may find sometimes surprising things. Please let us know at contact@addictrip.com .

Why offers on addictrip will be more interesting than anywhere else ?

We will propose our members to share with other users the best promotions they find on the Web or during their navigation on addictrip. Through this, we expect to bring out the best offers at any time.

Of course, if an offer is booked via addictrip through a link posted by one of our members, that member will be commissioned.

What is the expert status ?

The expert status is a self-declared status. Each of you can apply to become expert in one or more cities.

If you declare yourself an expert, you tell the community that you have a very good knowledge of the city and you can possibly help them in preparing their next weekend in the city.

What means the badge next to the name of a restaurant or a touristic site ... ?

This badge means that the content in question was labeled by the team addictrip. These are the places in which statements you can trust without problem.

What is « My Selection » ?

« My selection » allows you to keep in mind different places (restaurants, bars, hotels ...) that you have found during your navigation and return to these later.

To make this tool really powerful, you can add a clear title and description to your selections, like « best places to go out in Berlin ». This way they can also be useful to other users.

A selection is always linked to a particular city and you can make as many selections as you wish per city.

You can edit your selection by pressing the icon with the pen to give a name or change its description. You can also navigate from one selection to another within a city via the drop-down menu.

What are private messages ?

Private messaging allows you to send a private message to another user. When a member sends you a message, you receive a notification email to your email address. It is important for us to maintain quality of the contacts so we are working on continuous improvement of these tools. If you were to receive abusive emails, please tell us.

I notice that a location on the site is now closed,
how do I report it  ?

I notice an error in the address or description of a place, how can I change it ?

For now we do not give this option directly on the site. Please let us know by contacting us at contact@addictrip.com .

My profile and my personal information

How do I activate my account ?

When you register on the site, we send you an email. You have to click on the activation link in this email to activate your account.

If you do not receive this email, you can check your SPAM folder. If you still can not find our email, please contact us at the address contact@addictrip.com .

Why add a profile picture ?

By adding a photo, you create more visibility and trust for your profile.

Who are « My Favorites » ?

« My Favorites » are the other members who are either your friends or people you've identified in the community as having good insights. So they are people you somehow want to keep in touch with.

How do I change my personal information (name, date of birth ...) ?

It's very easy, just visit your profile and click on the « edit » link.

How do I change my password ?

You can do it by following the same as for editing your personal information.

We use your personal data strictly within the service addictrip. We reported the data we gather and the uses we make of it to the « CNIL », French entity controlling the use of personal data on the Web, under file number 1377784.

Business owners

I would like my restaurant / bar / hotel / store to appear on addictrip. How can I do ?

We will soon offer a professional status that allows you to create your Professional account. You can then create your Restaurant (for example) on the site transparently for the users. If you want more information, contact us at contact@addictrip.com .
